on the North Norfolk coast

Wells-next-the-Sea is a delightful seaside town and has a network of narrow streets, old alleys and yards, boasting some impressive Georgian and Victorian architecture. Over the years, the Wells Local History Group have mounted informative plaques on the walls of many buildings giving the name and date of the pub that used to be there. Almost everywhere seems to have been a pub at some time or other it would appear!

There really is plenty to enjoy in town itself. Explore the shops, eat fish and chips by the quay, walk by the coastline or take the train to the sea front. A unique and lovely place in Norfolk with lots to do for any holiday occasion.

If you have children with you, be sure to kit yourself out with the essential crabbing tools – crabbing line, bucket, net and some really stinky old fish heads or a lump of bacon – you will undoubtedly meet someone who will have a better idea of what bait you should be using! You can happily crab for hours off the Quay.

A spot by the quay
Our lovely quay is a sight to behold in the sun. Watch boats pass by and look out onto the horizon, abundant with coastal wildlife and scenery.
