Fresh Norfolk crab cannot be beaten for taste! A crustacean that has its skeleton on the outside, this wonderful shell protects the soft, flavoursome flesh. There are many varieties of crabs. The most commonly eaten crab in Norfolk is the brown crab that weighs up to 3kg and contains plenty of sweet, succulent flesh. It remains in season from April until November.
Did you know...
Female crabs have sweeter flesh than males - we're not entirely sure that Head Chef Will and his team actually hand pick the females only. The Frarys down at The Quay would have something to say about that! They come from a long line of fishermen and the crab you eat for lunch today will have been caught by them early this morning.
