Wells Harbour Maritime Trust - Charitable Donation

08 Apr 2016
Our talks have been very popular again this year and we were delighted to be able to give the trustees of the Wells Harbour Maritime Trust a cheque for £5,000 to go towards the great charitable work they do with youngsters. The Trust’s aims are twofold: To advance the education and training of young people between the ages of 5 and 20 in sailing, seamanship and associated water sports, in particular through the award of bursaries and to promote the personal and social development of such people by enabling them to participate in sailing adventures and training. Something we believe to be hugely important living where we do, right beside the sea.
John Cushing of the Thursford Collection and the Thursford Christmas Spectacular gave the final talk in our Talk of Wells series of fundraising talks. He took us back to his father’s day and fondly told us how his father started the collection of steam engines – the largest in the country.

Many thanks to all of speakers who took part over winter. We are truly thankful for all your support in helping achieve such a great donation to our chosen charity. Same again this year!
